OTHER R&D PROGRAMS
In addition to proteasome inhibition, Millennium is pursuing other therapeutic strategies for cancer, including the use of monoclonal antibodies conjugated to radioisotopes or chemotherapeutic agents, small-molecule targeting DNA/RNA inhibitors of enzymes involved in cellular replication, and small-molecule inhibitors of faulty kinase-mediated signaling in malignant cells.
In addition to VELCADE® (bortezomib) for Injection, our pipeline of development candidates includes the following investigational drugs:
MLN518 is a small molecule specifically designed to inhibit type III receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), including FLT3, PDGFR, and c-KIT. MLN518 is currently in Phase I/II clinical development in AML patients.
MLN8054 is a novel small molecule inhibitor of Aurora kinase(s) and exhibits potent anti-tumor activity against a variety of human tumor xenograft models. MLN8054 is in late preclinical testing.
Further information about these investigational drugs is available in the R&D section of this website.
